Highlights:  Week 2

South Varsity Red Barons Storm over Warren 22-0
Game two for the Varsity South Red Barons was a lightning shortened showcase of strong defenses and outstanding special teams, as the Barons won a hard fought contest 22-0 over Warren. David Weldon and Sam Genna broke the game open late in the first half, with a thunderous hit on the third Baron kickoff of the day. Michael Calcaterra scooped up the ensuing fumble, and rambled 40 yards for the score.

Outstanding up front blocking performance from Bobby Weiland, David Borowicz, John Allen and Justin Moore enabled the Barons passing game to connect early and often. Genna scored the first touchdown of the day on a picture perfect corner pattern from Luke Riashi. Romari Ennis-Rodgers pounded between the tackles for a second touchdown of the day, behind the outstanding blocks of Andrew Sharp, Douglas Graham, Ricky Berg, Ryan Keating and John Hughes.

But it was the defense that stole the show. The stingy Baron's secondary gave up no completed passes on the day. The corners and safetys included Genna, Riashi, Kareem Muhammad, Ennis-Rodgers, and Calcaterra. And the Baron linebacking crew that is second to none, is led by Ryan McWood, Will Poplawski, Garret Hudson, and Mac Cimmarrusti; as well as Outside Backers Doug Graham, Andrew Trost, and Sam Jones.
