The Grosse Pointe Red Barons Football Organization is a community-based little league football program that promotes the physical, mental, moral and well-being development of children from 9-14 years old by providing instruction in football and cheerleading.   In our 50-year history, we have provided football and cheerleading for approximately 8,000 children in the Grosse Pointe and Harper Woods communities.

In 2005, the Red Barons doubled in size to meet the growing football needs of the community.  We now have two freshman, JV and varsity squads aligned according to Grosse Pointe High School district boundaries, age and weights.  This means that every year over 250 children will play little league football and another 60 will participate in the cheerleading squad.

The Red Barons believe that our six-team program satisfies the community's need for children to participate in little league football in a quality, well-established, and highly-respected program.

Registration dates for the Red Barons upcoming 2010 season are fast approaching. Returning players should complete registration actions in May and new players are welcomed in June. All specific dates will be announced in the near future by mailings to returning players/cheerleaders and will also be made announced on this web site. 

Typically, the Red Barons' season begins in the second week of August each year and concludes by the first week of November, at the latest.  Practices are normally held Monday through Friday, from 5 to 7 pm at Kerby Field, located just south of Moross and east of Mack Avenue. During the school calendar, practices are held from 5 to 6:30 pm in order to accommodate homework schedules. The season schedule consists of eight games which are played on Sunday or Saturday afternoons. Home games are played at Grosse Pointe North and Grosse Pointe South High Schools.

The organization is a charter member of the Eastern Suburban Football League (“ESFL”) (www.eteamz.com/esfl) and has a reputation as a well-run organization that continually strives to improve the quality of the football and cheerleading experience for all of our participants, coaches and families.
